Bananas (1971)

this was funny. i liked the tone somewhere between chaplin and airplane. i also liked that his conversations with his girlfriend had some kind of naturalness to them even though they were all shtick. imdb says a lot was improvised so that probably helped. i just liked how eager he was for laughs and dove into every routine, no matter how silly. questioning himself in the courtroom seemed especially silly and demanding.

I like political satire, but I often am annoyed by Woody Allen. Is Bananas for me?

i wouldn’t call this political satire. but it’s much more comedy-focused than allen-focused like i’d say annie hall is, so if you want to watch a fast goofy comedy i don’t think you’ll be annoyed.
