i watched this and spaceballs back to back the other night/morning when i couldn’t sleep. i guess the 2 purposes of this were to see deniro cry and the scene with billy crystal at the big meeting. neither of which i found funny. all the setups were just beyond absurd, which is fine, but then we’re supposed to buy into all the father issue crap and care about his breakthrough? this was definitely for boring middle-aged people who would watch the scene at the end (’one more dance, then we go upstairs’) and be pleased and satisfied by that.
