i liked pretty much everything about this except orlando bloom.  i’m just not buying him as the dark and brooding type.  some of the idealized enlightened players are kind of laughable but still i enjoyed this as a big historical drama.  i especially liked the huge battle scenes and the big siege towers and flaming projectiles.  i had had enough swordfighting by then and was ready for the big shit.
